A high school diploma marks the beginning of another endeavor in a person's life. After graduating high school, a student may either enter the work force right away or pursue further education towards earning a college degree. Each of these options manifests a person's desire for progress. In today's complex and multifaceted world, university education must address all these concerns. Even though a desire to work is good, it is not enough. To make this desire effective, it is important to develop a competent individual who can transmit his own maturity to others.
Having college education is one effective way of forming a competent person. And for one would want to become a competent person. Obtaining a college degree will acquire knowledge and skills that would make me strong in dealing with the problems and challenges that are prevalent in today's world. College education surely is one way of achieving competitive edge particularly in the field of work. Without which, a person's option would be quite limited. It would be tragic when a person grows old and would say:
If I could only have seized the opportunity to acquire college degree when I still have the time, I could have been a better person. Now that I can do so, I am quite determined to take this chance. This is one thing that I am sure of.
In addition to realizing the significance of attaining a college degree, I have an innate desire to learn. It is my belief that a person becomes nobler as they acquire more knowledge and education.
When I was a child, my parents have often told me that I was always eager to learn new things. I was taught the basic skills in basic learning at the tender age of four with joy. My parents always told me that I was an excellent student even at such a young age. Additionally, my parents encouraged me to explore knowledge and use various learning materials that assisted me in my progress both conceptually and practically. In elementary school, my ability to acquire knowledge was outstanding. I enjoyed spending time in the library reading books. I have always been a diligent student, and my passion for learning increases as I get older. My goal is to keep up with current issues, especially in the field of technology. It seems that there is always new knowledge in that area. Besides making sure I grow in knowledge; I also do something concerning my physical development. Tennis is my favorite sport. It has been my experience in high school that mental and physical training enhance the progress of an individual. I am keen and sharp because of this, which means I have the intellectual and physical capability to face the rigors and complexity of life. As a result, I am ready to take on new challenges. Regardless of what hurdles I may face in college, I have the vision, the attitude, the mental set, and the physical strength to overcome them.
It has become particularly interesting for me to become a professional now. The vision I have is that as a professional, I will be able to make a difference in other people's lives. In addition, I believe the university will enable me to achieve my dreams and goals in life: to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for self-development, and to serve my family and society at large as well.
